Cosplay Rules

It takes too long to upload them all here. Deviantart will host some of the best that I take.
Rules for those I have photographed in cosplay:
1) You can print the images for personal use at your discretion
2)Any commercial use has to be approved by me (and will involve me receiving some share of the income). Same rules apply for their use in charity works.
3)If you post or share the photos online, ensure that I am credited as photographer. I dont watermark my images for the sake of rule #1, but I would hate to see that being abused forcing me to change that.
4)If you see I havn't described what you (Or the person in the photo is) are cosplaying as, its likely because I dont know, so feel free to tell me so I can properly label it (Making it easier for people to find their photos)
5)These rules are for cosplayers in the foreground of the images (as in the obvious focus) not for people caught in the background. These prints are intended for cosplayers to have records of their own work and time spent at the conventions, not so some random stranger in the backround can get reddit or imgur points.
General user rules:
6)There are exceptions to the rules (I retain the rights to determine those exceptions on a case by case basis)
7) I am okay if you want to use these images as reference for drawings/paintings/sketches etc. Important rules for this:
7a)They are NOT TO BE USED FOR PORNOGRAPHIC OR FETISH PURPOSES unless approved by the aforementioned cosplayers. The models who are the focus of each image are given the right to ask for the removal of any images they feel offend them or fall into Pornographic/fetish categories. They also can approve the use of these images in said categories if they so choose (I would like to be notified of such use)
7b)These images should credit me as photographer of the reference and the model (If they have deviant-art or social media accounts) in the image.
8) I do not usually consider photomanipulation (basic editing, adding lens flares, putting the model in a field, etc etc) as acceptable uses for each images. If you wish to photo manipulate the images you must attain permission from me. I must be properly credited and notified of any such attempt and retain the right to ask for its removal at a later date.
9)Use of these images for charity purposes requires the approval and notification of me AND the model before use.

TASTE OF ANIMETHON NOTICE

I work this weekend, so it will not be until monday I have a chance to start uploading photos. Keep checking my page for updates or email me what you were cosplaying as and I can send you the photos that way
Update: I have made a facebook page www.facebook.com/AthanePhotogr…; Some photos are there. You can still email me, or contact me via facebook for your photo if I missed putting it up. Also the high res will still be made available on Deviantart (Facebook lowers the resolution, so they are not as good for printing/editing)

Edmonton Comic and Entertainment Expo

The photos I took will be posted sometime during the week. I will try really hard to get them up before Wednesday. I dont work (holidays!) but I do have a friend visiting from Ireland. You can always email me through my Gmail if you want the pictures right away. So check back through the week to get your photos.

ANIMETHON 21 NOTICE v2

So, I have been a combination of Sick and really busy the past while, so the photos from animethon are very late. I do give the cosplayers photographed (those that are the focus of each picture) full rights to use and distribute the photos as they see fit. All I ask is that I am credited in return if you post them online or in your own gallery. I reserve the right to deny the photos use for commercial purposes and must be consulted before they are used as such. Other than that, enjoy your photos.
Also, after all this I have tonnes of photos with members of
to upload, took so many, I will upload them after. Next up is the Edmonon Comic and Entertainment Expo in September. I plan on getting a better flash before then and brushing up on its use, NO MORE BLURRY PHOTOS is my goal.

ANIMETHON 21 NOTICE

So, as usual, it will take me a while to get all the photos uploaded for you. You can contact my GMAIL (on the card) and I will email you your photos. YOU HAVE MY PERMISSION TO REPOST THE IMAGE ON FACEBOOK, TWITTER, REDDIT, IMGUR, TUMBLR, ETC. ONLY REQUIREMENT IS THAT YOU LINK MY DEVIANTART ACCOUNT (ATHANE) OR IF ON TWITTER (SYRENIAN) TO GIVE PROPER CREDIT TO ME AS PHOTOGRAPHER. I TOOK THESE PHOTOS FOR YOU TO ENJOY!!!!!!

Should start uploading tomorrow (Tuesday). Finished most of the edits and such. Boss is on vacation so I got extra hours and the opening shifts, so I cant spend as much time editing as I would like. Plus I have about 700 photos to go through, so I am working my butt off.
Please Please Please be patient with me, I wouldn't want you to miss out on having photos of your wonderful cosplays.
So please be patient with me while I get them all uploaded.
